My cat is acting like she is ill. I can not find any external reasons for this. She stay in one spot laying on the ground with her feet tucked under her and meows. When I try to get her to walk she walks very close to the ground and will take very few steps. Any idea?

How old is she?
Is she spayed? Eating, drinking and pottying normally?

She is 2. Yes, she is spayed. No,she is not eating and I believe not drinking. As for the pottying I am unsure as I have other cats. I can say that I have not seen her go. My husband just called me and said that they can't find her, so she has snuck off to a hiding spot......

Dear friend,

Once a cat stops eating and begins hiding - they are feeling quite ill. In a two year old, it would be impossible to determine what she is suffering from without a physical exam. You reall need to have this girl seen by a vet ASAP so you can determine what is wrong and treat it. Since you have other cats - they can be in danger if this is something contagious.

Please let me know what was wrong and how she is and if you have any more questions.

Very sincerely,

Terri

I just made the appointment for this morning. Once I have her diagnosed, how do I get back in touch with you to let you know what I found out?

P.S. Thank you so much. My husband thinks I overreact when it comes to my cat's health, so I was questioning myself if anything was really wrong.

Dear friend,

Here is my email so you can let me know how your girl is terririba@aol.com

You should aways err on the side of caution where a beloved pet is concerned because you can never turn back the clock.

Cats are very stoic animals - they can take a lot so by the time they begin hiding and stop eating - they are already feeling quite il. You are making the right decision in having her seen ASAP.

I will stand by to hear from you when you get back.

Sincerest best wishes,

Terri
