Is she a long haired cat? What I usually do with my persiancat is give her a sanitary clip, carefully clipping the hair away from her anus and her back legs alittle. You can have groomers do this also if you aren't comfortable doing it yourself.

Reply to Traci's Post: She is a short hair, but she is a bit chubby and has trouble getting "back there" to clean. I tried to trim myself but she was not happy with the procedure.

If you have one near, I'd make an appointment with the groomer. There they can give her a bath, keep that little area clean for her. Also, that makes them the bad guy, not you. If you set standing appointments with the groomer, the stress of going should lessen for her and become routine. Usuaslly too, if you become a regular, it's been my experience, the price sometime goes down a little.
