I have a four year old male fixed cat. Today he has started crying, walking around and squatting on anything soft and seems to be leaking a watery bloody? liquid from his anus. He keeps going into the litterbox every few min. but I don't think he is actually doing anything. He seems very distraught. Is he just constipated? I had flowers around would this be caused by eating something poisonous?

You need to get your cat to an ER vet ASAP. Bring a flower with you so it can be identified.
If your cay swallowed a toxic substance he requires immediate life support or he could die.
PLEASE contact me as soon as you return and let me know how you cat is.
Very sincerely,
Terri

Reply to Terri Riba's Post: I've had spider mums, Fresia and something that kind of looks like a multi-layered folded up rose. I thought I would watch him overnight and see how he was doing in the morning. He seems to be in a better mood. he's not crying he's just walking around like he normally does. But he still seems to be having trouble pooping, that is when the slightly pink liquid comes out, when he is trying to poop, not just leaking. I hope this clarifies things. thanks liz

Dear friend,
I am really happy your cat is feeling better. However, I can't help being very concerned about him.
If he ingested some non toxic flowers they could still do some very serious damage to his stomach lining and intestines.
I urge you to watch him like a hawk and if he does not improve rapidly and start eating and defecating normally he really needs to see a vet. Please get back to me and let me know what is going on with him. I will be standing by to hear from you.
Very sincerely,
Terri
