My 14 yr old cat started to lay in her litter box. First we started to close the door to the room her litter was in because she was eliminating on a rug. We bring her out and watch her but if she farts she goes back to her room because we can't trust her. And now she runs right into her covered litter box and actually naps there. Why is this? We don't want to pick her up and bring her out because she has litter all over her. She does use her litter. The eliminating has stopped on the rug but we think only because we are watching her so closely. Is there anything we can do to stop her from laying in there? She has always had toys but has never in her 14 yrs used them and she has several good napping spots. We are bewildered...
