My 2 year old cat just had her annual checkup and recieved her distemper/rabies vaccine but while being examined the Dr. told me she suffers from neck lesions and may need to have some teeth extracted. She does have horrible breath which I bought kitty mints for her but these aren't helping much. I have 2 cats now, both are 2 years old. This is the first time in my life that I've had cats as my mom was allergic and we couldn't have one when I was growing up.
I want to do the right thing, I know it's going to be expensive and I'll deal with that but my question is how concerned should I be with this?
She eats normally, drinks normally, plays, purrs and weighs 4 pounds more than my other cat. She seems healthy and happy and I don't want to bring on something unnecessary as well as expensive if I don't have to. The Dr. suggested I have her teeth cleaned first and then maybe blood work and x-rays then extraction etc...Is there an easier way to combat this problem without putting her through all of that? Thank you for your help!

What do you mean "neck legions"? Do you see abcesses on her neck?
Is she a persian cat?
Has she been treated with antibiotics?
