My cat's left eye just started to water a lot and

My cat's left eye just started to water a lot and itching her. The white skin area in the corner of her eye is red and I see more of it now then I have before. Is this a serious situation or could she of just scratched her eye?

Reply to Terri Riba's Post: A couple of weeks ago she had excessive watering in her left eye but it seemed to of gone away and then last night she was laying down and I noticed the eye starting to bother her. My husband said that her and our other cat was fighting that morning, but they never fight to hurt one another.
