My cat is five years old. She has recently starting urinating on my bed. Actually, the first time she did it was a year ago after one of the many hurricanes we had in Florida. I thought it was just because I had to keep moving her and my other cat in and out of the house. I tossed out the comforter and bought new. Several months later, she did it again. Several months after that, she did it again. Now, today, she has done it again. She's had four of the episodes. Can you tell me what the problem might be?

Thanks!

That's too funny. Yes, we are definitely in the Plywood state. I can't get over how many flashlights I own.

The only thing new and/or different is the change in comforters I keep having to buy LOL. Seriously, really can't think of anything that's been different. I am in a new apartment, but I've been here since October of last year. The first episode happened at my old apartment, and that was during all of the hurricanes. The other three happened in my new place.

Usually when a clean cat begins to soil inappropriately there is a medical reason. However, I think your cat is reacting to some kind of latent stress based anxiety. Cats are very intuitive and can easily pick up on our emotions and fears. Atmospheric changes in humidity are possible causes as well.
I suggest you get Feliway at www.catfaeries.com the plug ins and the spray. Also an enzyme cleaner to disinfect the comforter. Then spray the feliway that simulates her marking scent (to her -not you). She has chosen your bed to mark because she fears being moved and she wants to mark that spot so everyone will know that it belongs to HER. In her own cat mind she thinks that will keep her from being moved again.
I sincerely hope that we will have a peaceful summer this year. I am living in West Palm since 1980 and never saw a hurricane before 2004. How about you.
PLease let me know if you need ANY further help.
