High calcium levels in cats
Sent to Cat Experts February 18 06:47 PM

I had a question on what exactly high calcium levels mean. I just had my cat in and everything else was fine except this. His levels were 12.3. Please advise, the vet said this may be an indicator of cancer

You can read what the lab reports in cats mean here

Kidney failure in cats is a fairly common cause of high blood calcium levels. Tumors, parathyroid problems, and kidney issues are what might be investigated next when this is found.
But diet and activity etc can impact the level too.
Hope this helps you!
