I have a 6yr old neutered male cat that returned from the vet yesterday. He was taken in on 2/14/2006, and was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection. He was catheterized under sedation. His catheter was removed on 2/16, and we were able to take him home when he urinated on his own. He's been home now for 24 hours, and he's not ambulatory. He's lethargic, drooling, and cannot stand on his own. He also cries from time to time. He's been laying on the floor, and as far as I know, hasn't had any food or water since he's been home, nor has he used the litterbox. He's been laying on his side and just kind of rolls over from time to time. The vet gave us clavamix, which he gets twice a day, and we've been giving him water with an eye dropper. Any help would be appreciated

one dose of clavamox at home, have been unable to reach our vet. As far as my husband knows, he wasn't given any subcutanious fluids. It just seems he should be moving around more

You are absolutely correct! He sould be moving around a LOt more. Your vet made sure that he could urinate by himself before he released him and he would NEVER have let him go in this condition.Sometimes after catherization - the cat developes stricture - which is a narrowing of the urethra and cannot urinate. That is a MEDICAL EMERGENCY!
Your cat is exhibiting symptoms of shock. He can be seriously ill and in big trouble at this point.
If you cannot at least reach your vet by phone - you MUST get your cat to an ER vet where he can receive life support and possibly further catherization or you coud lose him.
PLEASE let me know what is going on with your cat - if you took him to the ER and how he is later.
Please let me know if you have ANY more questions or need any further help at all.
