My cat has been sneezing green mucus all over my house for quite awhile. i kept thinking it was a cold that would go away, but this has been going on for a year and keeps getting worse? Is this something that can be treated and what is it likely to be?

How old is your cat. Is he strictly indoor?

He is a male cat who is about a year and a half old. We actually found him when he was a kitten. He has had all of his shots and was treated for an infection when he we first found him. It seems as though he has never quite gotten over this. The sneezing has gotten worse and I've noticed that he often has a runny nose. The mucus is very green and he sometimes has sneezing fits that last quite a long time. He has not been to the vet for a while and we didn't want to bring him if he just had a cold. I guess I should also add that he is primarily an indoor cat, but was spending a great deal of time outside when we moved to the country. he has not been outside much since it became cold (probably since November).

It is likely your cat has an upper respiratory or sinus infection that he just cannot shake. Somtimes the immune system can overcome these issues if it is strong enough. However, your cat needs a little help.
Have your vet put him on a two week round of clavamox. Then a week off. Then another two week round. That will eradicate the bacteria and resolve the mucus.
Also get him some digestive enzymes and probiotics at www.AllergicPet.com. As that will boost his immune sysytem and enrich his overall general health.
After the month of medication your cat will be good as new.
Please let me know if I can be of any further help.
