My cat had some dental cleaning done friday morning.

My cat had some dental cleaning done friday morning. We brought him home friday afternoon. He is not drinking and eating. He is 16 years old. We try to give him water with a medicine dropper. The vet clinic said he the anasthesia can be in his system for 24 to 48 hours. He is on antibiotic twice a day which we started this morning. What can we do to make him eat and drink. Please advise Clara
