Unfortunately, the only way to keep him still is to confine him. You can do so by putting him in a dog crate or other cage to keep him still.

For the paw, you can flush it with peroxide and then apply some neosporin. Some cats will allow you to slip a baby sock over the foot and tape it loosely at the ankle.

But some won't. With these cats, you need to get an elizabethan collar from your vet. It looks like a lamp shade and will restrict her acces to the sore.

If it's still bleeding after all this time, she may need a stitch to get it stopped.

Let me know if you still have questions.

I did clean it out with peroxide and put neosporin on it and bandaged it in a manner similar to the one you described and he would not leave the bandage alone he kept shaking his foot and just doing everything he could to get it off which wound up reopening his cut. I had confined him to the spare bathroom so the other cat and the dog wouldnt bother him but I let them visit for a few minutes. I didnt think of putting him in his crate but he wont like that. I have some liquid band aid should I try that and just leave him in the crate for a while? It had quit bleeding after I treated it its just when he tries to get the bandage off or jumps up on the counter that it reopens, I wish he could underdtand tht I am trying to help him and leave the bandage alone but I have given up on that since it does more harm than good. How long do you suggest leaving him in the crate? And thank you very much.
