Question

I have an almost persion cat .He has all white fur but ...

I have an almost persion cat .He has all white fur but his face is not flat like it's mother.any way at about 6 months old his tail develloped a grayish aera. that seem to spred on the fur of his tail.he is thee years old and still has this stuff on his tail,it almost looks like mold .He don't like us touching it much. also he has matts in hes fur. I try cuting them but it's tuff

You should take him and have him professionally groomed- either at a groomers or a vets office that does grooming. Fleas can nest under these mats and they just become infested with them and you'll never see them. The tail could be a condition called stud tail. It is caused by oil glands that are overactive. Once you get him groomed then the best be is to either keep getting him groomed or be sure to brush him good daily. You may even want him totally shaved down if he is an inside cat and depending on where you live.

I know that bring him to a vet would be best, but I have limited funds . This is why I am seaking answers on line.mostly i am tring to find out about the grayish stuff on his tail. he is and has alwayes been an indoor cat so fleas are vary unlikly..

Inside cats can get fleas also- they ride in on your pants legs. My cats are all inside but still get fleas. OK- read about stud tail at the link below and see if that describes his tail
