My kitten throws up every once and a while after he eats. It's not hairballs because he is a Cornish Rex, (having little hair). He seems to eat too fast and then he runs and jumps all around - so I think throws up because he hasn't had time to digest. He is only 3 months old. Otherwise he does not seem sick, (he has TONS of energy) - still I wonder if he needs to go to a vet.

He might be playing too hard after eating but he also might be intolerant of the food you are feeding. Often cats throw up right after eating if the food has an ingredient that bothers them.
While mostly food allergies make animals itch sometimes they can cause vomiting.
You may want to look at what you are feeding and compare it to the higher quality cat foods from a pet supply store for ingredients.
You can look at food ingredients here

check some of the premium foods like Wellness, Felidae, California natural cat, Chicken soup for the cat lover and others.
Hope this helps you!

Reply to Nancy Holmes's Post: Hi Nancy,
Thanks for your answer. We got the kitten from a breeder who did mention this particular kitten has a tendency to snarf his food, and on occasion, throw up. We are feeding him the same food, (Max Cat Nutro and Eukanuba - quite high quality, that she fed him). There is another cat in the house who eats dry Science diet and Egon, (the Barfer), sometimes eats out of Ebeneezel's dish. So that might be a possible culprit, but the breeder said he threw up once or twice on the food he was always eating. She says she thinks he will grow out of it. I have to say, he doesn't seem sick otherwise, but so far he's thrown up every other day or so - just one time and seems fine afterward. I tried to keep him in his own room after eating for a few minutes and it seemed to help. He supposedly has had all of his vaccinations, so I don't think it would be anything too serious...

Actually Eukanuba foods are not considered high quality ones anymore. Once upon a time they were but companies change as do their products.
I think if you compare ingredients looking at grains and preservatives you may find that there are better foods out there. Changing to one that doesn't have the same grain or protein source or that may be lacking in preservatives might resolve his vomiting problem. For example both the Eukanuba and the Max cat foods contain corn and egg and Brewers yeast all of which can be allergens. Some cats do not do at all well eating fish too.
A 12 week old kitten can't have had 'all of its shots' as yet but I agree it doesn't sound like disease so much as a food intolerance or perhaps a problem with the stomach valve or even megaesophagus which you can read about here

Reply to Nancy Holmes's Post: HI Nancy,
Ok, thanks for your advice. The breeder did strongly suggest that we try to buy EVO dry food because it doesn't have any grains. She said cats aren't set up for eating a lot of grains and if they are eaten in excess it can lead to feline diabetes and obesiity. Have you heard of EVO?
Maybe I will try it in order to switch up the diet a bit. He was raised on the Max Cat, though. I wouldn't think it would cause problems all of a sudden...I guess if he doesn't improve after I change his diet I should take him to the vet.

Thanks for your help and rregards,
Erin
