Question

reoccuring abscesses in my cat

Sent to Cat Experts July 28, 2005 1:05 a.m.

my question is my 3yr old cat who is a neutered male indoor outdoor cat keeps getting abscesses. I've takin him to the vet like 6-7 times and on a x-ray there was a dark spot on his front left leg I am currently very limited on income so we treated the abscess with antibiotics for over a month. he has been fine for quite a while maybe 2 months and now he has an abscess on his left leg again and his righ tside of his head up by the entrance of his ear.his whole face on the right side is very swollen to where his eye is almost swollen shut. i've drained the abscesses as good as i can until i can have the vet look at him tomorrow.like i said b4 im limited on income so what is the possibility that this is fiv? my vet had discussed this with me but i dont remember if she tested for it or not and why would he get 3 abscesses at 1 time there r no other wounds 2 cause them.please help i love my cats very much and i dont want him 2 b in anymore pain.
