Cats enduring the hot summer months

Sent to Cat Experts June 23 12:24 AM

Tomorrow it is suppose to get up to 95 degrees where I live and I don't have air conditioning. Will my cat (10 months) be okay? The windows will be open for cross ventilation and the (much cooler) basement will be accessible. But I'm worried -- even in these 80 degree days, she is more lethargic. Thanks for your insight.

If you are ok with it, she should be just fine, too.

I would put a little ice in her water and encourage her to drink.

You can also use a fine mist spray bottle to wet her down occasionally if you are worried.

Let me know if you still have questions.
