My cat vomits her food shortly after eating. I''ve tried different tectures of food trying to find one that she prefers but one day she will eat a dry hard food, the next a soft food. Some days she will eat her cat treats the other times she will walk away. She seems to be begging for food by rubbing against my legs, but I can''t seem to find one she will eat on a consistant basis or one that she will not cause her to vomit. I''ve had her for over ten years now and I don''t know if her age is a factor or not. She is also an indoor cat. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Given her age I do feel it is time to consider a trip to the vet for some baseline bloodwork. My concern here is kidney disease, diabetes, liver disease and hyperthyroidism which are all common in our aging cats. These can cause the finicky appetite, vomiting, and lack of appetite altogether. This would be the best place to start. Acting hungry all the time is consistent with hyperthyroidism as is the vomiting if she is just eating way too fast. This is easily treated with daily medications. Kidney disease is what usually leads to a picky appetite and also vomiting.

Please let me know if further assistance is needed.
